Surf Education
Surf Education & Training is an essential component of what we do. We train our surf lifesavers to the highest standard to help ensure that Blacksmiths Beach remains safe for all visitors.
You can start your community career as a Surf Life Saver as young as 7 years old and continue right throughout your life. Between the ages of 7 to 13, children can join the ranks as Nippers who gather every Sunday morning during the summer months to allow young children to kick start their Surf Life Saving career with enjoyable activities that are age specific, on the beach and in the water.
From the age of 13 you can start achieving qualifications that allow you to patrol Australian Beaches.
Awards that you can achieve to be a Patrolling Surf Life Saver include:
- Surf Rescue Certificate
- Bronze Medallion – Certificate II
